Brother John B. Ginder, O. Praem.
Brother John B. Ginder, O. Praem., a Norbertine brother of Daylesford Abbey, died on December 27, 2018 at the age of 78. Bro. Jack, as he was affectionately known, had resided at Daylesford Abbey for many years.
A native of South Philadelphia, Bro. Jack was born on March 13, 1940. He was a member of St. Gabriel Parish in South Philadelphia. He was vested as a Norbertine on Aug. 28, 1964 and received solemn vows on August 28, 1971. For many years he served on the faculty of St. John Neumann (now St. John Neumann/Maria Goretti High School) and also worked in the attendance office. From 1990 to 1995 he taught at St. Joseph High School in Jackson, Mississippi. Upon his return to Daylesford Abbey he was assigned as infirmarian and served faithfully for many years the elderly members of the community. He often volunteered to cook for the community when the need arose. His major hobby was photography. You could always count on Bro. Jack for an original birthday card for the members of the community.
