Called to Community: The Life Jesus Wants for his People
Facilitator: Maurice Avicolli, O. Praem.
Time: 10:00 am – 11:30 am
Four Wednesdays: April 3, 10, 17 & 24, 2019
RSVP: Please register before Wednesday, March 27, 2019
The discussions around this book are an invitation to explore the many facets of community — that unity with God in Jesus that gives birth to a oneness in the Spirit, that we call the church.
Opportunities to be and live together, to share together, simply to care for one another in the ordinariness of daily life — these “moments of community” provide a school for “Communio”, a mirroring on earth of the life of our Trinitarian God in whose image we are made.
The sessions will consider the Why, How, What and Who of Community. In different but complementary ways, our answers to the questions will be grounded in an openness to Transcendence, a willingness to sacrifice individual interests for the common good, a search for an inclusivity that gets beyond narrowness and prejudice. Participants are asked to purchase the book on their own and read Forward and Part I in preparation for our first session, the first of four April Wednesday mornings.
Tickets are not available as this event has passed.
