Free – $20.00
Starting on September 27, and then for three alternating Thursdays (10/11; 10/25 and 11/8), we invite you to participate in a faith sharing experience around an excellent book, “Polarization in the US Catholic Church: Naming the Wounds, Beginning to Heal.” This book is made up of 13 essays by a variety of well-regarded Catholics, that were originally presented as talks at Notre Dame University. “Healthy debates, characteristic of a living tradition, suffer instead from an absence of genuine engagement and dialogue. But there is still much that binds American Catholics. In naming the wounds and exploring their social and religious underpinnings, Polarization in the US Catholic Church underscores how shared beliefs and aspirations can heal deep fissures and the hurts they have caused.” Starting at 7 pm, each session will begin and end with prayer, and will encourage its participants to freely dialogue without judgement of others, with the hope that we may more readily become “a people of reconciliation.” Abbot Domenic will be the moderator of these sessions. We ask $20 for a copy of the book and a free-will donation to support this and other works of the Abbey. Please be sure to register ahead of time to allow us to get you a copy of the book and to plan for the size of the group. If you already have a copy of the book and would like to just register and make a free-will donation, you can either email registrations at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call the registration line at (610) 647-2530 ext. 133, please be sure to give all of your information, including contact name, address, contact phone number.
